SUNNYSIDE UP MOMENT - APRIL 10, 2020

DAY TWENTY-FIVE OF THE CORONAVIRUS SHUTDOWN FOR US AT STACK 'EM HIGH PANCAKES AND SO FORTH

This moment in time is a poignant intersection of science and spirituality.  And whether today is sacred for you because it is Good Friday or the second day of Passover or simply the tenth day of April, I think we can all agree that today is sacred.  The sun came up just as yesterday had promised and the gift of our waking was revealed. 

Modern society not only has room for technology and morality, it has an obligation to allow space for both.  Thankfully someone somewhere will invest all of their time today in a lab, studying the virus and searching for a vaccine.  Thankfully someone somewhere will invest all of their time today in a food bank, distributing lunches and lifting spirits.  This moment and every moment requires curiosity as much as it requires charity.

Henry David Thoreau asked, “With all your science, can you tell how it is, and where it is, that light comes into the soul?”  If I had to answer, I would say that the light came from the sun and was reflected by my spirit.
